The Estate
Where is the estate?
Meet the developers – They’re country folk too!
Meet your neighbours
Let’s hear from some of those who already call Abington Heights ‘home’:
“
We have been residents now for almost eight years, having built our own home in the estate. Blocks are a great size, there’s town water, mail gets delivered into the estate and there’s certainly plenty of room. New homes are continuing to be built, with families and retirees on the move into this quiet and friendly place. We have nature at our back door and can take walks in the environmental park at the back of the estate where we can listen to the birds, see guinea fowls, kangaroos, butterflies and just take nature in, in all its glory.
The owners of the Estate are more than happy to assist with any enquiry you may have.
Come join us and build your forever home.

Tranquil Living at Abington Heights
Hi, my wife and I are both semi-retired and for the last 6 years we have been travelling our beautiful country in our motorhome with no home base. We both decided to establish a new home somewhere in the best state (without a doubt) in Australia called Queensland. So here we are in Childers at a peaceful place called Abington Heights Estate.
You may ask why?
Well there are many reasons, firstly we are central to both our children located in Rockhampton and Brisbane. Then there’s the climate, one of the best in Queensland and living here we are still close to Bundaberg and Hervey Bay with all the other expanded facilities (if required) and all the while enjoying the tranquility, without the limelight and associated hassles of life.
After being through two category 5 cyclones in far North Queensland and living in the bitter cold areas of Goondiwindi and Stanthorpe, enough was enough!
So where next?
I grew up in Bundaberg and a lot of people say it has the best climate in the country, on the flip-side Bundy is classified as a cyclonic area, bringing with it additional building expenses.
So we looked further afield and were pleased when we found Abington Heights where the estate is classed at a lower risk rating saving us big dollars!
We wanted a small acreage area halfway between Rockhampton and Brisbane, with a quality climate, great local facilities including access to health services, food grown where we live and the conveniences of doing business close to home.
Well, Childers and Abington Heights Estate ticked all of our boxes! It’s great living here, only 8 kilometres from Childers, we’ve swapped metropolitan living for the freedom and tranquil environment that is very welcoming. There’s awesome sunsets and lots of new neighbours like kangaroos, kookaburras and our ‘friendly’ magpie that we see on our nature walks.
The facilities at Abington include good town water, power and full council garbage collection.
Apart from the wildlife, our other neighbours are very friendly with the majority being retired ‘Aussie Grey Nomads’ and a few young folks to keep us all intoe!
If you are thinking of a change, you could not go wrong – it is certainly worth a look – you will not be disappointed.
